I also said this online. An interesting rebuttal came back: the new multi factor measures include BMI and it remains a simple diagnostic with understood contra indications which you can resolve with e.g. a survey or fitness test.
I still think the BMI is old, tired and misleading but I had to think about that. I improved my overall health and weight over the last 5 years and as usual for old fat men, the hard stuff to shift is round the belly. So I remain high on a BMI score, but belly fat is also considered "dangerous" so the simple truth might be I need to do more.
