What? A new government agency for homeowner insurance? (federalnewsnetwork.com)

Houses built in terrible areas that get too damaged from climate change, cause insurance companies to pull out of entire states.

We have methods for making strong houses, and how to categorize hazard areas. The problem is that those don't work because the local gov doesn't want to upset builders. So our flood maps etc are no longer adequate.

Sorry if you own one of these overpriced wrecks, but no one will offer you anywhere near what you paid for it. It is basically worthless without insurance, without insurance, no one can get a mortgage. So learn to repair your own stuff, and the next time a company comes to your door claiming you need a new roof because of hail damage, just say no.
