HTTPS Is Everywhere (eff.org)
5 points by johnnyapol on Sept 21, 2021 | hide | past | favorite | 1 comment

HTTPS may help with security and privacy in some ways, but it is also a step back for freedom and accessibility in many other ways.

The certificates are centrally managed.

The protocol is not human-readable.

Older devices and OSes are excluded.

Transport and data are merged together.

Other accessibility issues are also present, such as requiring increased processing power, matching clock setting.

These issues, and many others, are why I still retain HTTP on my sites and will continue to for the foreseeable future.
