Sooo... was this damage covered by insurance?

Could this somehow be used to generate a Zillow-style tour of a physical space?

For better or for worse, there are no such mandatory inspections nor certificates required when selling your car in the USA. Its a common trope/issue that people can often get misled by sellers when buying a vehicle, either by the seller clearing the engine codes or some other shady practice that would keep the car looking good until it drives off the lot

I see, thanks for the context.

I know NodeJS well but have never used PHP, but I can attest that using PM2 is a pain and node_modules deps issues can be a hair-pulling event. But the package.json scripts provide a simple and built-in way to run basic build tasks. There's always an ~~app~~package for that, no matter what "that" is. There are also tons of tutorials, examples, and snippets for everything you want to do to get up and running quickly. TBH I really enjoy working with Typescript, it really brings sanity to JS (as long as you are consistent with it) and Express is dead simple and just makes sense.

Would you mind sharing your insights into why one should go with modern PHP+Laravel instead of NodeJS+Express+Typescript? what does the PHP equivalent of pm2 load-balancing look like and how does it compare?

This is actually really cool, I may have to give it a shot! Thanks for sharing

What apps do you recommend one to download from F-Droid?

It would be impossible to guess what is right for you as an individual, so see for yourself:

https://f-droid.org/

As others have mentioned, Aurora Droid and Aurora Store are helpful alternatives to the Google app store.

https://gitlab.com/AuroraOSS/auroradroid

https://gitlab.com/AuroraOSS/AuroraStore

Not everything here will be for everyone and there's obviously a _lot_ more good stuff there, but here's a list of some good apps to look at:

- OsmAnd - offline version of Google Maps

- FreeOTP+ - FOSS 2FA app

- NewPipe and/or SkyTube - Youtube app alternatives. They break every so often when Google changes something, but when they work, the experience is much better than the stock YouTube app

- Simple Gallery Pro - view/manage photos

- OpenTracks - track running/biking/etc.

- MuPDF viewer - view PDFs

- FairEmail - privacy-first email client

- NetGuard - Application-level firewall (can block outgoing network requests)

- Forkyz - downloads and lets you solve daily crossword puzzles

- Gadgetbridge - app to connect/manage wearables

- Aurora Store - replacement for Google App Store

- Barinsta - Instagram client

- Fennec F-Droid - Firefox for Android

- Silence - Text message app

- VLC

Not OP, but here are a few of my favorites:

RedReader (for Reddit)

AntennaePod (podcasts)

NewPipe (YouTube)

Wikipedia's official app

Voice (audiobook player)

Book Reader

RSS Reader

Twire (Twitch)

Easy XKCD

Ning (network scanner)

Some of these are available from the Play store as well of course, but not all. For random utilities where I want something lightweight that does a basic task it's the first place I go. Ironically it's some of these fdroid apps that are what keep me on Android. I'd love to be rid of Google, but would really miss AntennaePod and NewPipe.

Can you elaborate some more please? This is blowing my mind right now, -0?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signed_zero for the CS version.

This is common in maths when you approach a number 0 in this case) from either side. Your results may be dramatically different, such as "what happens when you approach 0 for f(x) = 1/x"

Wow, the premise of the game sounds really cool! Do you plan on adding a multiplayer mode to the game? Me and some friends have been on the hunt for a new fun mp strategy game for a while

Multiplayer is something I'd probably add post release, I think it would be hard to implement for the strategic world map since the factions are so asymmetrical. If I was going to add it in, it would probably have to be just the tactical battle map.

This has to be one of the most worthless articles I've ever read. The title here is really the TL:DR, the only additional piece of info in the article not present in the title is the numbers. The source of the data for this article is here:

Agreed. This is a much better article from last month: https://www.axios.com/facial-recognition-retail-surge-c13fff...

What do you like about induction cooktops?

Everything! Boiling a pot of water is twice as fast if not more. More control over temperature. No risk to burn yourself, kitchen towels or other unwanted items. They never need deep-cleaning due to spilled food being burned onto the glass, one wipe with a cloth and it looks like new.

One drawback is they are often bundled with ridiculous touch-controls rather than knobs, even though that shouldn't need to be the case. You can find those without.

I don't own one, but from what I've seen from friends the major benefit is safety.
