I owned the Pebble OG, the Pebble Steel and the Pebble Time Steel and despite all my attempts, I couldn't fill the void the Pebble left. I tried the Amazfit Bip, The BangleJS 2 (that one got pretty close IMO) and now rocking a Casio watch that does bluetooth but still work on a CR2032 (GBD-200), and more than a year on the same battery, which is quite a feat when you think about it.

The software UX of the Pebble was on point, and the animations surprisingly smooth for such a device. I'm still convinced that after all there years, the Timeline UI is unrivaled.

I'm eager to see what you'll come out with :)

Technically, Threads uses ActivityPub and is federated with other Mastodon instances (and technically the rest of the fediverse that haven't federated from Meta).

https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2023/07/what-to-know-about-thr...

I suppose the ads are mostly displayed through the Threads app and web server? Otherwise I don't see the Fediverse taking it kindly with being polluted with ads from Meta.

It looks like ads generally are posts from business accounts that then get a sponsored badge and some promotion among feeds. From a fediverse perspective, you won't see them unless you follow the pizza hut threads feed (to use a random example.)

There's a bidirectional bridge available

All the stuff I care about is all backed up in some form (photos to Google Photos, emulator game saves through Syncthing between my decices, contacts in Google Contacts, emails are in Gmail, credentials through Bitwarden, etc).

I can literally throw my iPhone in the ocean, buy another phone, log in to my Apple account and my new phone looks and works just like the old one with all of the settings, Home Screen app placement, widgets being in the same place and local app data being restored.

You would be missing all of that

Which I don't really care about tbh

You mean every legacy car makers out there.

The thing is, driving is a privilege and not a right since it can be revoked.

4th amendment still applies to those engaging in the 'privilege' of driving to work so they can pay the property taxes they must pay so they aren't locked in jail for being homeless.

Idea 4A doesn't apply to 'privileges' including the most common method of personal transport is totally nonsensical nor is any exception of the sort implied nor explicitly outlined by the amendment.

Your right to privacy is subordinate to the public's interest in identifying the drivers of cars.

It's not a 4A violation to require you to display ID when you're driving a machine that statistically is one of the leading killers of both adults and children. It's just good policy.

Identifying ( by essentially always-on search) everyone driving without RAS or PC sounds like a privilege and not a right, that can be revoked, unlike the 4A.

As ALPR become ubiquitous it's becoming clear that privilege is subservient to our rights.

Or get shafted by Huawei corporate espionage, as a repeat of Nortel.

In fact the only reason I don't eat more pineapple is because it stings my tongue of I eat too much
That's because the bromelain in the pineapple interacts with the proteins of your mouths tissues and convert them into peptides. It's kind of like "digesting" your mouth's walls, which thankfully regenerate quite fast and isn't dangerous :)

I have this problem but only with raw pineapples. I absolutely love grilled pineapples and they don't burn my mouth

It would be funny if a user sues WordPress for being forced to acknowledge that pineapple is delicious on pizza because that user is allergic to pineapple.

If he understands the risks and deems those manageable according to their threat model, I don't see a problem.
